Panasonic announces entry-level P9

Panasonic has launched the entry-level P9 smartphone in India. Priced at INR 6290 ($98), the phone is now available at retail outlets across the country.

Being an entry-level device the specifications aren't all that exciting. The 5-inch IPS display is protected by Asahi Dragonglass but has a resolution of just 854x480. The phone is powered by a quad-core 1.1GHz MediaTek MT6737M processor and has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, which is likely not going to be particularly fun to use. The phone also has a basic 8 megapixel camera on the back with autofocus and LED flash and a 5 megapixel camera on the front. The P9 ships with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. Powering all this is a 2210mAh battery.

The Panasonic P9 will be available in Black and Champagne Gold.
