ZTE announces the Nubia Z17 Lite with a Snapdragon 653 chipset

It wasn't long ago that ZTE launched the Nubia Z17 with impressive features like QuickCharge 4.0, 8 GB RAM and top-notch Snapdragon 835. Now the manufacturer decided it should launch a phone with the same body but without all the cool features under the name Nubia Z17 Lite.

The chipset of the Nubia Z17 Lite is Snapdragon 653, paired with octa-core CPU and Adreno 510 GPU. The stripped phone has only 6 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Since the body is the same as the Nubia Z17 with the 5.5” edge-to-edge display, a microSD slot is nonexistent.

The main camera was also overhauled. Instead of 12 MP + 23 MP sensors, there are two 13 MP sensors. One of them in RGB with a f/2.2 aperture, while the other is monochrome. Both cameras have IMX258 sensor by Sony. At least ZTE kept the 16 MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.

The battery is 3,200 mAh but it can be charged only through QuickCharge 3.0. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back for all the users taking care of their private information.

The Nubia Z17 Lite will be available after September 6 with a CNY2,499 price tag which equals $379.
