Hundreds of NASA's historic flight videos now available to the public

The first airplane took flight over 110 years ago. Orville and Wilbur Wright are credited with inventing the airplane after making four successful flights on December 17, 1903, at Kitty Hawk.

Since then, aircraft technology has come a long way. There's great news for aircraft enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Hundreds of historic experimental flight videos have just become available for everyone to see.

How to watch NASA's historical flight videos

NASA's Armstrong Flight Research Center recently started uploading its entire video archive to YouTube. There are hundreds of videos to watch, many of which showcase test flights and peculiar looking planes.

Here's an example. It's a video taken in 1965 that shows the cockpit view and takeoff of an XB-70A Valkyrie from Edwards Air Force Base in California. Read more...
