Tirupur: A training camp for fair price shop workers in Tirupur district was conducted on the behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government Co-operative Society, at a private wedding hall at Arulpuram next to Palladam in Tirupur district.
The meeting was chaired by the Tirupur District Collector Vineeth and was attended by fair-price shopkeepers working in various parts of the district.
Some of the advice offered to them there were, “Fair price shops should be open in a timely manner and daily inventory details with dates and weights should be clearly written on the notice board and records must be maintained on a daily basis.
Vendors at fair price shops are required to wear identification cards, sign family registers and provide essential items in the event of technical difficulties in delivering goods biometrically and must not place essential items near kerosene barrels and fertilizers.
The District Collector presented gifts to the sellers who sold most of the Ooty tea powder and government salt.
