The elephant that was found dead in Coimbatore has no injuries

First phase anatomical examination results have arrived.



Coimbatore: A post-mortem examination of a male wild elephant found dead in the Bethikuttai forest in Coimbatore has begun.

The physical examination in the presence of the medical team led by the Coimbatore District Veterinary Officer Sukumar, forest officials, and wildlife volunteers.

Sukumar, a medical officer, said the first phase of the examination had confirmed that the dead elephant did not have any external injuries, such as gunshot wounds. Following this, the work of examining the organs of the said elephant has begun.
