Coimbatore: A special team led by the Coimbatore District Sirumugai Forest Officer today patrolled the Sirumugai Forest Reserve, Modur Bethikuttai Dense Forest, Bethikuttai Division, Varappallam Sarkar.
At that time, an 8 to 11-year-old male wild elephant was found dead in the forest. The incident has been reported to the District Forest Officer and the Veterinary Committee.
The forest department said that steps are being taken to examine the body of the male elephant which was found dead.
