The district administration has announced that the selection for the posts will be done on the basis of a temporary contract in the National Health Board in Coimbatore district.
Coimbatore: On the orders of Coimbatore District Collector GS Sameeran, officers led by District Food Security Officer Tamilchelvan were divided into six groups and engaged in raids in various places including Coimbatore Big Bazaar Street, Vysial Street, and Karuppanna Gounder Street today.
During the search of 42 shops, chemically ripened mangoes weighing about 12 tonnes and 350 kilograms and sweet limes weighing about 2 tonnes and 350 kg were seized.
The confiscated fruits were then discarded in a garbage dump and destroyed.
The market value of the destroyed fruits is Rs.8 lakhs. Following the inspection, food safety officials issued notices to 12 stores.
