Anna unions in Tirupur protest demanding implementation of new pension scheme

They demanded immediate payment of arrears to retired workers.


Tirupur: Anna unions protested in front of the Government Transport Corporation office in Tirupur, Kangayam Road.



The demonstration was led by Tamil Nadu Co-operative Union Anna union secretary Arulsamy. In this event, the participating unions said: “The DMK government should not engage in retaliatory measures against the Anna unions. Abolish the new pension scheme for transport workers and implement the old pension scheme. Wage contract negotiations for workers should begin immediately.”

They demanded immediate payment of arrears to retired workers. The protest was attended by the former Tirupur South Assembly Member S. Gunasekara, the Tirupur Bailiffs District Anna Union Secretary Kannapiran, the Zonal Anna Union Secretary Thangavelu, the Chairman Raveendranand Corporation Councilors Kannabhan and Anbagam Tirupati among many others.
