Coimbatore: World Thalassemia Day is celebrated on 8.5.2022. Thalassemia Awareness Program for Pregnant Mothers was conducted on the 9th of May 2022 on behalf of the Department of Child Welfare, Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital.
It was held on behalf of DEIC (District Intervention Center). On 10.06.2022 Chennai Rela Hospital Bone Marrow transplant surgeon and the Liver Transplant Surgeon participated in a discussion with the parents of children with thalassemia.
This was followed by a special medical camp for children with thalassemia.
Rela Hospital Expert M.R. Dheenadhayalan conducted a conference on bone marrow transplantation for post-graduate students.
The Chairman of the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital, Dr. Nirmala addressed the gathering. The event was attended by a large number of hospital professors, assistant professors, and postgraduate students.
