Coimbatore: Darsha (33), a transgender person, hails from the Sulur valley area of Coimbatore. She went to the Liquor store in the Weavers' Colony with her friends the day before yesterday and asked for liquor from the persons working there.

Following this incident, Meghnathan and Poorvaasan got into yet another dispute with Darsha last night when Darsha and friends came near a private theater in Ondiputhur, Trichy Road.
During the course of the dispute, the enraged Poorvarasan pulled out a knife from his waist and stabbed Darsha in the neck and shoulders, and fled from the scene.
Critically injured, Darsha has been admitted to the Coimbatore Government Hospital and is receiving treatment. Based on the complaint lodged by Darsha at the Singanallur police station, the police were looking for Poovarasan and Meghanathan.
Soon after, the police arrested the accused near the Singanallur bus stand, produced them in court, and remanded them in custody.
