Coimbatore: A worker of a private motor company in Coimbatore was tragically killed when a motor pump accidentally fell on him.
Maran, a resident of the Palladam Keeranur area of Tirupur district has a son Thangaraj (38) who is married and has two daughters. Thangaraj has been working for a private motor company in the Thudiyalur area of Coimbatore for the last five years. Thangaraj was reportedly engaged in cleaning work at the company on the day of the incident. The supervisor at the workplace reportedly raised the rack on which the motor pumps were stacked, which resulted in one of the pumps falling on Thangaraj and injuring him. He was rescued by people at his workspot and rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital but Thangaraj died on the way to the hospital.
The Thudiyalur police have registered a case against Supervisor Mani and Charan Bakkat, a migrant worker for negligence and not putting proper security measures in place at the workplace.
