151 persons who joined the Second Class Police Service in 1997 have been promoted as Special SI in Coimbatore. They met and greeted the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners and other higher officials.

In Tamil Nadu Police, 151 persons who joined the Second Class Police Service in 1997 have been promoted as Special SI's in the city of Coimbatore.
In all, they must have completed 25-years of work without any charges. Of which, they must have served as 10-years. Accordingly, in Coimbatore, 151 persons were promoted as Special SIs.
Of these, 136 are working at local police stations and the intelligence unit office.
The remaining 15 were serving in the Armed Forces.
The promoted 136 people met and greeted Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Pradeep Kumar, Deputy Commissioners and senior officials yesterday.
