Coimbatore: Dairy agents in Coimbatore have protested against the sale of Aavin milk by Reliance at a reduced price.
Aavin milk is being bought for sale at Reliance Smart supermarkets across Tamil Nadu, including Coimbatore. On behalf of Aavin management, the price of milk has been fixed at Rs 44 to Rs 47 per liter.
However, the sale of half a liter of Avin milk in Reliance stores for 12 rupees instead of 22 rupees has caused great dissatisfaction among the Avin Dairy Agents Association.
The agents said that Reliance was a highly profitable company and that it is using predatory pricing to steal a market.
Therefore, they have demanded that the administration of Aavin should take appropriate action in this regard.
Reliance has retaliated saying, that has announced a special offer to prevent milk from being spoilt if it is not sold on a daily basis
