The police officer traced the missing 12-year-old boy to Madurai after he had left his Vadavalli home due to a petty dispute with his parents on April 13.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police, V Badri Narayanan honoured the police official who found a missing 12-year-old boy by tracing his whereabouts to Madurai. The boy had gone missing from Vadavalli police station limits in Coimbatore since April 13. Appreciating the prompt sleuthing skills of the police official, the District SP issued a certificate of appreciation to Kottai Sekar at the District Police Office, for rescuing the boy from Madurai and returning him safely to his parents.
The boy had left home on the evening of April 13 after his parents reprimanded him for playing games on his mobile phone. The parents lodged a complaint at the Vadavalli police station when they could not find the boy in spite of scouring the entire neighbourhood. Based on the complaint, a police constable Kottai Sekar (Grl 1186) traced the boy to Madurai and brought him back home to Coimbatore on April 26.
