Public from different areas in Tirupur on Monday, submitted a petition to the Collectorate requesting action to remove the residents on water squatter lands and provide them with alternate site for houses.
Notices are being issued on behalf of the respective corporation authorities to vacate the residents of the water body squatter area across Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the district administration has issued a notice to the 138 families in the Tirupur Anaipudur area, asking them to vacate the place as water body land is a squatter land.

The residents of the area submitted a petition to the district collector's office demanding that they be given time or an alternate site, saying they have so far been paying electricity connection, house tax but have been issued notices to vacate immediately.

The residents in Thirumuruganpoondi Municipality led by Municipal Chairman Kumar, submitted a petition to the District Collector's office protesting against the issuance of notices asking them to vacate more than 40 people and to provide an alternative site.
