Coimbatore: The Broiler Rearers Employees Association has stated that they will go on a state-wide strike on April 29 condemning the unfair practices of private poultry farm.

The Farmers Broiler Rearers Employees Association submitted a petition at the Collectorate against private poultry companies for indulging in unfair practices. They had pointed out that in the last two years, due to the increase in the prices of inputs like coconut manjhi, curry eggs, increase in wages of labourers, unregulated minimum stock of private poultry companies and shelf rate, poor quality of feed, etc., the farmers had suffered the most.

They also announced that they would go on a statewide strike on the 29th to protest against the improper activities of the private broiler poultry companies, as their repeated letters, mails to the BCC for the past six months, have not been fruitful.
