Three day strike in Coimbatore by Earth movers welfare association against fuel price hike

The Coimbatore District Earth Movers Owners' Welfare Association is on a three-day strike to protest against the price of petrol and diesel.


Coimbatore:The Earth Movers Welfare Association, Coimbatore District stage three-day strike against the petrol, diesel and insurance price rise.

The Coimbatore District Earth Movers Owners' Welfare Association has announced a three-day strike, alleging that they have incurred heavy losses due to steep hike in prices of petrol, diesel, spare parts and insurance. Around 1,500 earth movers including JCB, Pocline, Doscher and 150 vehicles in Annur block are on strike. Union officials said the strike will continue for three days from starting today, 22nd April.

Lamenting that they were unable to repay the loans to the bank, the earth movers demanded that the centre and state governments take immediate steps to bring down the prices.
