Passenger traffic went up by 40 percent, while the cargo traffic raised by 10 percent at the Coimbatore international Airport with 1.8 lakh passengers and 828 tonnes of cargo handled in the month of March
Coimbatore:Passengers and cargo traffic increased in Coimbatore Airport during the month of March.
After several months the number of daily flights operated, the number of passengers and the amount of cargo handled monthly has increased significantly at Coimbatore International Airport
In March 2022, the airport had a total of 1,80,650 passengers, including 10,214 passengers in the international transport category and 1,70,436 passengers in the domestic transport category.
A total of 828 tonnes of cargo has been handled in the international transport sector and 743 tonnes in the domestic transport sector. Passenger traffic has increased by 40 per cent and cargo traffic by 10 per cent compared to March 2021 this year. In March last year, 1,23,664 passengers and 749 tonnes of cargo were handled.
The information has been shared by Airports Authority of India (AAI). The effect of the pandemic has come down and normalcy is gradually returning. As of today, the Coimbatore airport operates 22 flights daily from early morning to night, including domestic and international transport divisions.
