The Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Radhakrishnan has issued circulars to the District Collector and the health officials to take necessary precautions to avoid rise in Covid cases in the city as the state headquarters and two other districts have reported cases again.
Coimbatore: The District Collector of Coimbatore G S Sameeran and other officials have been instructed by Health Secretary Radhakrishnan to take necessary precautions with Covid cases likely to increase once again.
Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra are once again witnessing a surge in Covid cases. In the last few weeks, Tamil Nadu had recorded less than 25 cases on a single day. Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases in Chennai, Thiruvallur and Kancheepuram districts are reported to be increasing substantially. The number of cases, which was below 25, rose to 30.
In the circular, Radhakrishnan, the Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Health Department has also instructed people to continue wearing masks and maintaining proper social distancing. It has also been advised to identify and vaccinate those who have not been vaccinated. He also directed that steps be taken swiftly to identify Covid-infected persons and treat them appropriately.
