The members demanded action against a teacher in Jaivabai Municipal school in Tirupur for forcing a sixth grader to change her religion.
Tirupur: The Hindu Munnani Youth Wing staged a demonstration against the alleged forceful conversion attempt of a girl student in Class 6 by a school teacher in Tirupur.
The Hindu Munnani had lodged a complaint at the Tirupur North police station yesterday alleging that the Tamil teacher working at the Jaivabai Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Royapuram area of Tirupur, had tried to convert a 6th grader. The school has more than 2,000 female students.
The Hindu Munnani Youth Front then staged a protest in front of the Jaivabai Government Girls' Higher Secondary School demanding that action be taken against the school teacher for forceful conversion. They also demanded that an anti-conversion law should be implemented in Tamil Nadu.
