The police are searching for four people who allegedly swindled Rs 30 lakhs from a 60-year-old man by selling him bricks in a box in the name of Iridium.
Coimbatore: A 60-year-old man from Theni has been scammed of cash in the name of Iridium. The city police are on the hunt for four fraudsters.
Manoharan, 60, a native of Andipatti in Theni was robbed of Rs.30 lakhs by mysterious people while he was staying at a private hotel in Singanallur in Coimbatore.
After conducting a search, Manoharan was interrogated and the preliminary investigations revealed that the miscreants who spoke to Manoharan told him that they had iridium. Beliving their words, Manoharan had come to Coimbatore with the money.
Reportedly the gang asked Manoharan to open the suitcase certain hours later for more power from Iridium. However, Manoharan only found bricks inside the box four hours later. Following this, Manoharan lodged a complaint with the Singanallur police. Based on the complaint, the police are on the lookout for four persons, including Muruganandam and Kannappan.
