The accused arrested in the murder of finance company owner in Coimbatore, Ranganathan has been charged with the Goondas Act and the order copy was handed over to him on Wednesday.
Coimbatore: The accused in connection with the murder of a finance company owner in Coimbatore has been charged under the Goondas Act.
Saravanan (19), son of Sundaram, a native of Nagamapudur near Annur in Coimbatore owned a finance company. Saravanan was hacked to death in January 2021 in broad day light. Tamilselvan and Rajarajan surrendered in the case.
Rajendran of the Hindu Munnani and his friend Ranganathan, the owners of the finance company, were arrested for instigating the murder due to business rivalry.
All the four accused, Tamilselvan, Rajarajan, Rajendran and Ranganathan were arrested.. The District SP Badrinarayanan recommended that Ranganathan be arrested under the Goondas Act.
Ranganathan was arrested under the Goondas Act on the orders of District Collector Dr G S Sameeran. A copy of the order was handed over to Ranganathan.
