The daily wage labourers of certain Wards in Coimbatore Corporation including Ward No. 98 have stated in the petition that their wages for March has not been provided and requested action.
Coimbatore:The daily wage labourers of certain Wards in Coimbatore Corporation including Ward No. 98 have submitted a petition to the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Raja Gopal Sunkara demanding settlement of their pending March salary dues,
The petition stated that the 40 daily wage labourers of Ward No. 98, South Zone and daily wage labourers working in a few other Wards had not been paid their March salaries. "We request that steps be taken to ensure immediate payment of wages to the daily wage labourers working in the Wards," stated the petition.
This was followed by a boycott of work by the daily wage workers of Warn No. 98 of Coimbatore Corporation South Zone on Wednesday, April 13.
The petition stated that the 40 daily wage labourers of Ward No. 98, South Zone and daily wage labourers working in a few other Wards had not been paid their March salaries. "We request that steps be taken to ensure immediate payment of wages to the daily wage labourers working in the Wards," stated the petition.
