Coimbatore: A 21-year-old boy died as he crashed the car on barricade while heading to watch movie.
In an inglorious accident, four friends who were headed ecstatically to watch Vijay's 'Beast' met with an accident in Coimbatore, in which one died. The three injured have been admitted to GH.
Balasubramaniam hails from Santhosh Nagar in Nanjundapuram, Coimbatore. His son Kaushik ( 21) is said to have dropped out of college and is working . His friends Prithvi, Kanishka and Nivetha arrived in their car at around 3 am this morning to watch the first show of Vijay's film Beast.
As the car came on the Ukkadam-Sungam bypass road, it lost control and crashed into a roadside barricade and overturned on the road. Kaushik died on the spot in the accident. The other three seriously injured persons were rescued by those who reached the spot and shifted to Coimbatore government hospital
The Coimbatore City East Traffic Intelligence Unit police, who reached the spot, recovered Kaushik's body and sent it to Coimbatore government hospital for post-mortem. Following this, the car that overturned on the roads was removed and traffic was restored. The traffic intelligence police are investigating the incident.
