The 3 AIADMK Councillors arrived at the meeting in black outfits to show their disapproval of the State Government's move to increase property tax.
Coimbatore:The Coimbatore Corporation's Council Ordinary Meeting is underway at the Victoria Hall in Coimbatore.
The Council Ordinary Meeting that was to be held on April 11 is underway as per schedule. To show their disapproval of the Tamil Nadu Government's increase in property tax,all three AIADMK Councillors arrived at the meeting dressed in black outfits. They also carried placards condemning the DMK Government.

While addressing the meeting, Coimbatore's East Zone President, Lakshmi Ilanjselvi Karthik alleged that the previous AIADMK Government's lack of attention was the major reason behind the water scarcity and sewerage problems in Coimbatore Corporation. She added that the AIADMK MLAs till date had not visited the Wards to address the issues.
Her allegation was immediately opposed by the 47th Ward Councillor Prabhakaran, followed by others present at the meeting asking him to remain calm to allow the DMK Councillor to finish speaking. This led to an uproar in the meeting hall.
