A 10-feet-long king cobra, which was found near the tea estate factory near Valparai, was caught safe and released into the forest area.
Valparai: A king cobra that slithered into the Tea estate in Valparai was rescued safe and left inside the jungle.
There is a big tree in the tea garden factory premises at Uruligal Estate near Valparai in Coimbatore district. The estate employees and public were panic stricken to access the area after finding a king cobra in the tree, Sunday morning.
The workers informed the Manampalli forest range forest department.

The forest department and the snake catchers jointly caught the king cobra from the tree and found that the snake was about 11 feet long and weighing 6 kg and was a female snake.
The reptile was released safe into the Manampalli forest area in the presence of forest ranger Manikandan after examining it.
