Coimbatore: The Puthiya Tamilagam party leader has called for a ban on Byju's stating they are against the New Education Policy and should be banned
The Puthiya Tamilagam party leader Krishnasamy met the press at his residence in coimbatore on 9th April, saturday. Speaking to reporters, he said the Puthiya Tamilagam party would hold a demonstration on the 16th to protest against the fuel price hike, cooking gas and the increase in property tax by the Tamil Nadu government.
"It is not fair to increase fuel prices citing wars in Russia and Ukraine and to increase property tax as the central government stated to do so", krishnasamy said. He urged the Centre to reduce the price of petrol and diesel and asked the Tamil Nadu government to give up the hike in property tax.
Speaking of the entrance exams in central Universities, he called the move welcoming and wanted uniformity in the examination in all the universities and asked the state government not to object to it. The Tamil Nadu government should regularise the training institutes' tuition centres in the state and questioned why the state governments are not taking steps to control the tuition centres.
"When there are various rules for starting kindergartens, why are coaching classes, including tuition centres, are not limited?" and stated that these should be defined immediately. He said that it was against the New Education Policy (NEP) for private companies to run tuition centres with investments of thousands of crores of rupees in collaboration with the Centre.
Adding that entering into agreements with private organizations like Byjus after implementing the NEP was against the policy, he pointed that training in 112 districts by Nidhi Aayog in collaboration with Byjus was a distortion of the new education policy of the central government.
Krishnasamy urged the central government to scrap the plan and told the reporters that "There is an atmosphere of political instability in Sri Lanka where the poor and downtrodden are starving to death,"
Adding that we have a responsibility to save the Tamils living in Sri Lanka and at the same time we should help them with humanity without any discrimination, he said that when the Tamil Nadu government is helping, it should help not only the Tamils but also all sections of Sri Lanka.
