A 30-year-old man died after succumbing to serious injuries as he fell off his two wheeler when a stray dog came in contact with the vehicle, near Malumichampatti service road at midnight.
Coimbatore: A 30-year-old man died in an accident caused due to stray dog menace in Eachanari, Coimbatore.
Amongst various impediments motorists have to face while riding in Coimbatore, the stray dog menace has been an unfathomable disturbance. Due to the sudden influx of dogs across the roads, two-wheeler riders are at risk of stumbling and falling down either surviving injuries or dying, in an attempt to save the animal.
Accordingly, Selvaraj's son Tamilarasan, 30, is a native of Melur in Madurai district is staying at Malumichampatti in Coimbatore and was working as an electrician. At around 12 midnight, Tamilarasan who was coming on his two-wheeler on the Echanari-Malumichampatti service road after completing his work, was encountered by a stray dog out of the blue.
Tamilarasan stumbled and was thrown away on the road, with serious injuries. He was rescued by the locals and shifted to Coimbatore Government Hospital in an 108 ambulance. Tamilarasan, who was admitted to the intensive care unit there, died in the wee hours yesterday.
Madukkarai police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are investigating.
