The medical staff submitted a petition to the District Collector seeking their two-month salary dues and permanent Government jobs since their working tenure had ended.
Coimbatore: Medical staff who had been temporarily appointed at the Government Hospital for Covid duty submitted petition to the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran seeking their two-month salary dues and a permanent Government job.
More than 10 medical staff who had been emplyed to help with the vaccination and Covid-testing at the Coimbatore Government Hospital during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, alleged in the petition that they were not paid two months' salary and also not given jobs after their term had expired.
"It is very difficult for us since we are yet to be paid two months salary. Doctors and nurses are recruiting laboratory staff for various jobs in the medical field and so we request that we should also be given job assignments in any department," lamented the medical staff.
