10 to 12 tonnes of mangoes are exported every month from Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Kerala mangoes are reported to be in high demand in Sharjah. Every month, 10 to 12 tonnes of mangoes are exported from Coimbatore, according to airline sources.
Air Arabia regularly operates flights between Coimbatore and Sharjah, five days a week. "Each time, 2.5 tonnes to 3 tonnes of cargo are loaded onto the aircraft. Usually, vegetables are exported in large quantities but in recent weeks, the demand for mangoes currently produced in Kerala has increased in Sharjah.
Due to this, apart from vegetables being exported, on an average 10 to 12 tonnes of mangoes are booked and exported from Coimbatore to Sharjah, every month," stated airline sources.
