The Rajaganapathy Temple is located in the town of Dhuraisamy nagar near the Coimbatore Airport. Police and corporation officials were informed that the baby, who was just a few days old, was being held captive at the temple.
Following this, Peelamedu police and health inspector Ramakrishnan went to the temple and rescued the child. An ambulance was immediately called and the child was taken to the Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital.
The baby is being treated at the Infant Intensive Care Unit at the Government Hospital. Peelamedu police are investigating as to who left the baby in the bag.
