The public can report urgent complaints immediately to the police through the App, as well as show their whereabouts with a small video in case of an emergency.
Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M K Stalin launched a new App called 'Kaaval Uthavi' which has been developed with various new features,.at the Secretariat in Chennai, on Monday.
The Tamil Nadu Director General of Police, Sylendra Babu stated that the public can use the newly-launched App to contact the police immediately and in case of emergencies can also take a short video to show their whereabouts. The Tamil Nadu police already have an App called 'Kaavalan' in use for the public to inform the police immediately about their complaints in case of an emergency.
The App was launched after the Tamil Nadu Government issued an order for the use of the App. Sylendra Babu also stated that the police helpline App has 60 special applications through which anyone, be it women, children or the elderly can file their complaints. He said the existing 'Kavalan' App is a revolutionary initiative for which around 10 lakh people have registered, while another 10 lakh people will be trying to connect soon.
