Rs 2 lakh cash, gold ring stolen from private hospital in Coimbatore - Police investigate

An examination of a CCTV camera fitted in the hospital revealed that a unidentified person had entered and taken the patient's money and left.


Coimbatore: An unidentified person stole Rs 2 lakh cash and a gold ring from a patient at a private hospital in Saibaba Colony area in Coimbatore.

Subramaniam's son Rajesh Subramaniam (43) hails from Coimbatore EB Colony, Coimbatore district. He has been working as a pilot in Qatar.

He is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Saibaba Colony, Coimbatore due to a spinal cord injury. It is learned that Rajesh Subramaniam underwent surgery on April 1.

He was then transferred from his room to the operating center. Taking advantage of the situation, an unidentified person broke into his room and stole Rs 2 lakh in cash and gold rings.

Subsequently when his relatives came and saw the money and jewelry was missing. Later, a CCTV camera installed at the hospital revealed that a unidentified person had entered the house, taken the money and left.



Following this, Rajesh Subramaniam lodged a complaint with the SaiBaba Colony Police. Police have registered a case based on the complaint and are investigating.
