Coimbatore: The parents of a 19-year-old girl who committed suicide at her NEET Training Centre in Kovilpalayam (Srivari NEET Coaching Centre) have demanded that her death be registered a suspicious murder, and a probe considering sexual assault.
A 19-year-old student of Srivari NEET coaching centre in Kovilpalayam in Coimbatore, committed suicide by hanging. The body of the student has been kept at the Coimbatore Government Hospital. There are speculations that the suicide must have been due to issues with the girl's friend Yogeswaran and the Kovilpalayam police are investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, the girl's parents have submitted a petition to the Coimbatore District Collectorate alleging suspicion over the girl's death and demanded a proper probe by the police.
They met the Revenue Officer Leela Alex at the District Collectorate and submitted the petition. The petition read that there were no evidence for the girl's suicide, while the hostel warden also informed them two hours later instead of immediate intimation.
They have also raised suspicions including delayed notification, and the girl's room being cleaned after the suicide and demanded to register it as a case of atrocities. The family has denied collecting the girl's body until proper investigation is held in connection with the death and the actual motive is known.
Viduthalai Chiruthaigal and Tamil Puligal were also present when the petition was submitted.
