Coimbatore: A section of members of the Congress party staged a protest against the LPG cylinder price hike.
The price of petrol and diesel in India has been on the rise for the past few days. Various political party organizations have been holding protests at various places to protest against this. The Congress party, as part of their demonstrations across the country, staged a protest in Coimbatore, on Thursday in front of the BSNL office near the District Collectorate.
The Tamil Nadu Congress acting chairman, Mayura Jayakumar led a team that staged protests condemning the center. They demanded the price be not hiked anymore, and questioned, "What's next when petrol prices hit a century?"
More than 30 Coimbatore district Congress workers participated in the protest holding banners of condemnation.
