Coimbatore: The Kinathukadavu police registered case against two shopkeepers in Sikkalampalayam, RS Road for selling gutkha products and seized a total of 28 packets from the two.
Kinathukadavu police received a tip-off that banned gutkha (tobacco) products are being sold in shops in Kinathukadavu areas. Following this, the police led by Kinathukadavu police inspector Senthil Kumar conducted a raid at shops in Sikkampalayam and R S Road areas.
Arul Murugan (52), who runs a grocery shop in Sikkampalayam, had 15-packets of tobacco at his shop and 13 packets from Cchandrasekharan's grocery in R.S. Road were also seized and the two were booked.
