Vanathi Srinivasan alleges that Coimbatore has been ignored in TN Budget

The Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has stated that the Tamil Nadu budget has ignored Coimbatore, and no funds have been announced for the development of MSMEs.



Coimbatore: Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan has alleged that Coimbatore has been ignored in the TN financial budget.

"I mentioned that no expedite action has been taken for Smart city works or metro works in Coimbatore, but I was interrupted by the Ministers in the assembly during the budget session last week.” Added the Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan meeting the press at the Coimbatore South Assembly office.



Stating that only the videos of the Ministers speaking are available, she said that the proceedings of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly should be fully transparent.

Vanathi pointed out that Coimbatore did not get what was expected out of the financial budget, except for the anklet, but in all her videos, the word has been removed. She said that there is no announcement in the Tamil Nadu budget to encourage small and medium enterprises. Coimbatore has been neglected in the Tamil Nadu budget. Further talking about the arrest of the person who criticized the CM, Vanathi said that DMK has been constantly taking action against those who write or speak in favour of BJP ideologies, and the BJP activists.

She added that many people, including ABVP's Subbaiah, have been arrested and they continue to take action although the woman who lodged the complaint has compromised. When asked if she supports what Subbaiah did, she added that she does not support the mistake done. " In the case against Subbaiah, an additional case unit is being used to take revenge. Why can't this government be criticized? Does it suppress the voice of those who ask questions?"



Vanathi stated that the state government's budget could not achieve the target while the Centre has shared the financial revenue, giving a 24% higher tax revenue to Tamil Nadu. The Central government collects taxes and gives it to Tamil Nadu, but the state government has done nothing to collect the financial revenue, she said.

Pointing out that BJP has brought Salem Steel to profit from losses, she said the issue of cotton price hike was brought to the notice of the Union Minister last week along with the demand for a reduction in cotton import duty.
