More than 500 Electricity Board Employees and Trade Union Organisations staged a demonstration in front of the Coimbatore District Collectorate on the 29th of March, the day two of the Bharath Bandh announced by the joint forum of trade unions.
A nationwide strike is underway on day two of the two-day strike to press for the 14-point charter of demands. Various trade union organizations, government employees, and retired government employees are participating in it.
In the Coimbatore district, various trade union organizations staged protests and road blockades at various places yesterday demanding 14-point demands of Anganwadi workers and retired government employees insurance employees.
More than 500 employees including electricity board employees, AITUC, Anganwadi workers, retired government employees association, staged a protest in front of the BSNL office near the Coimbatore District Collectorate. The protesters raised slogans condemning the central government, pressing their demands.
