Coimbatore: A special library for women was inaugurated by Rathinavel Subramaniam College of Arts and Science at Government Primary School at Sulur in Coimbatore district.
Sulur Rathnavel Subramaniam Arts and Science College is encourages students from challenging backgrounds to pursue higher education. The higher educational institution is functioning for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden students in rural areas. Subsequently, it has adopted Ravathur village under Irugur Town Panchayat with an aim to empower women, and strengthen their reading habits. As part of this, a special library run by women and for women was opened at The Government Primary School, Ravathur this weekend.
Dr. R. Ulagali, Regional Joint Director, College Education, Coimbatore inaugurated the library. The inauguration of the seven-day special camp of the National Service Scheme was held.
College Secretary Saramma Samuel, Principal Dr. T. Sivakumar, Deputy Principal, Dr. M. P. Ayyappa Das, Students Forum Director Dr. R.N. Vivekananda and NSS officials were present.
