Addressing the event, Premalatha stated, "Sexual harassment is one of the most important issues that can be talked about in Tamil Nadu today, with cases reported in Virudhunagar and Vellore, a major atrocity against girls. The DMDK will condemn such atrocities against women wherever they take place in Tamil Nadu."
She urged the ruling government to amend the laws and act as a safe government for women. She added that it is the duty of a government to punish the guilty of atrocities against women without any mercy and take steps to prevent such incidents from taking place in the future.
"The election promises made by this government for women should be implemented immediately. We demand that this government should immediately control the prices of essential commodities and become a government for the people" She said that DMDK will always work for the people.
Subsequently, Premalatha distributed welfare schemes, pots, and sarees to the public, also naming a child Vijayaraja.
DMDK Coimbatore City District Corporation Secretary Singai Chandru and others were present on the occasion.
