The wind power generation season has begun a month prior in Tamil Nadu, that is in March, and it has been stated that there is a possibility of generating more wind power from April 2022 to March 31, 2023, in the current year's season as well.

The wind power generation season in Tamil Nadu has started a month early. The Renewable energy, including solar and wind, plays an important role in meeting the ever-increasing demand for electricity. Wind power generation infrastructure has been established in Tamil Nadu to generate 8,600 MW of power.

Tamil Nadu usually has a wind season from April to October. But this year the wind power generation season has started a month earlier than usual. Kasthuri Rangaiyan, president of the Indian Wind Power Producers Association (IWPA), said, "This year, the south-east monsoon started from March 15. On March 20, the wind was blowing uniformly throughout the day. This generated 47.7 million units of electricity on that day."
He added that on Monday, March 21, 35.9 million units of electricity were generated and on March 22, there is a steady wind wave. The season is from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022. The season usually starts in April. However, this year, the season started in March five weeks ago. Since the last season account is till March 31 this year, Kasturi Rangaiyan added that they expect 11 lakh units of electricity to be recorded in 2021-22.
