An old man who was under treatment at the government hospital for a snake bite, after he mistook it for a rope, succumbed to death, and the police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
Coimbatore: An old man who suffered snake bike, after he mistook the reptile for a rope has passed away, despite treatment.
Palanisamy is from Kumaran Nagar in Perur Thithipalayam in Coimbatore, is an employee at the Punjab National Bank. He lived with his father Chennimalai Gounder and his wife, a tailor, and two daughters.
Palanisamy's father was watering the plants in the garden, picked up the bucket near a tank, and witnessing a rope there, the old man picked it up, which was actually a snake. Suffering a snake bite, he immediately informed his son Palaniswami. Palaniswami rescued his father and brought him to the Coimbatore government hospital for treatment. He was admitted to the intensive care unit, but succumbed at around 4.30 pm, despite treatment.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are investigating.
