Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department stage dharna in Coimbatore; demand filling up vacancies

With over 100 people gathered at Tatabad, the Tamil Nadu Rural Development Department has been staging a dharna putting forth demands including filling up the vacancies and revoking the dismissal order of the former association head.

They also demanded that all village panchayat secretaries who were paid limited salaries should be paid through the treasury and all the rights that other government employees enjoy should be given to the village panchayat secretaries. As per the government order issued earlier, all computer assistants of MGNREGS should be paid at par with junior assistants.



Promotion orders from the level of Block Development Officers to the level of Assistant Director should be issued. The dharna is was held to press for various demands, including immediate filling up of vacancies.
