Pollachi: A Government school teacher is arrested under the POCSO Act for harassing a six-year-old girl.
A 77-year-old retired government school teacher was arrested in Pollachi under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Ebinasar, (77) is a retired government school teacher from Pollachi, and the father of a six-year-old girl, from the same locality have been family friends since childhood. Reportedly, Ebinaser visited his friend's house while they were away and assaulted the 6-year-old.
The parents finding their kid crying, and traumatized, inquired her, in which she revealed the incident. Ebinaser's contradictory reply led to an argument between him and the girl's parents.
The girl’s parents lodged a complaint with the Pollachi all-women police station. The Police conducted an investigation and found that the Ebinaser sexually assaulted the girl.
The police have booked Ebinaser under the POCSO Act, produced him before the POCSO court in Coimbatore, and sent him to jail.
