Coimbatore: A petition has been submitted to the Collector in Coimbatore, by the Narikkuravars seeking power connections in their locality in New Muthu Nagar in Thudiyalur.
People belonging to the Narikkuravar community of Narikkuravar Colony in New Muthu Nagar in Thudiyalur area of Coimbatore submitted a petition to the district collector seeking electricity connection to their area.
Claiming that Anubhav Ravi, an AIADMK man has been obstructing electricity supply for the area, they said more than 65 families have been living there for 40 years in squatter lands. They have petitioned repeatedly for a decade now, but no action has been taken.
They said the district collector should immediately fulfill their demand otherwise they had no option but to stage a road blockade at the Collectorate to carry out the agitation, migrating there with their families
