Coimbatore: The District Collector heard the demands of the parents at the School Management Committee Parent Awareness Meeting.
Today the School Management Committee Parent Awareness Meeting is being held in Government Schools across Tamil Nadu. The committee meeting is being held in 1203 government schools in Coimbatore district.
As part of this, Coimbatore District Collector Sameeran attended a meeting held at the Government High School in the SeernayakkanPalayam area. The parents of the students put forward various requests regarding the needs of the school and the needs of the students to the collector.
Most of them put forward demands for school smart class facility, toilet facility, emphasis on sports and skill development. Some said that the government school was functioning well and all the teachers were teaching the students in the best possible way.
The District Collector then spoke to the parents and assured that all their requests would be brought to the attention of the respective departments and action would be taken to fulfill them.
He also said that government school students learn to live in harmony with the community and government school students excel in various fields. He then inspected the school premises and inspected the student complaint box.
Speaking to reporters at the event, the District Collector said the purpose of the meeting was to set up a committee in each government school consisting of one 20-member committee headed by one of the Parent Teacher Committees and 6-Parents 4-Teachers Headmaster and two People's Representatives from the area. He said that facilities, school management, school needs can be studied and a plan for three years can be developed.
He said that at the present meeting the parents had put forward various demands and presented various ideas. He also said that it is gratifying that the parents who attended government school have also sent their children to study here.
