Coimbatore: The ration shops in Coimbatore will not function tomorrow, 19th of March, as the government has declared a holiday.
To provide alternative leave to ration shop employees across Tamil Nadu, holiday is declared for staff of the Ration shops tomorrow (March 19). Thus, the ration shops in the city will remain closed for a day accordingly.
The first and second Friday of the month is a holiday for the ration shop workers in Tamil Nadu and as compensation, the Sundays in the weeks will be a working day. The distribution of ration products started late as ration cardholders were given Pongal gift packages in January.
As a result, ration shops were functioning on January 30, the holiday, and instead, the 19th of this month has been declared a holiday. Thus, ration shops will not function tomorrow.
