The locals in Pandalur areas have reported tiger movement in the village, and the forest officers have intensified monitoring. This has come as a shock after two cows were killed by the predator, a few weeks ago, in a bush near Sousampadi village under Pitharkadu forest range in Nilgiris district.
The night before yesterday, people reported of seeing the tiger strolling in the area adjacent to the settlements. The forest department has been monitoring four places by installing surveillance cameras. They issued a warning on the public address system alerting civilians not to venture out in the evenings, due to the imposing danger.
