Coimbatore: Babu, Chief Constable at the District Armed forces, gathered funds along with his fellow police officers and contributed the amount to the families of two deceased army officers from TN.
Babu is the chief constable of Coimbatore district armed forces. He is also an ardent social activist,who collects money from his fellow police and occasionally helps the family of the police and the poor and needy. He has formed a team called 'Udhavum Karangal', Helping Hands through which he coordinates and assists friends and fellow guards to help the families of those who have lost their lives, especially while serving in the police and army.
A few months ago, a soldier named Bhupathi died in an accident in the Palakode Kammalapatti area of Dharmapuri district, who was serving in the army. Similarly, Prakash of Tiruvannamalai district who worked in the BSF died due to illness. Babu collected donations from fellow guards and friends for the family of the two deceased soldiers and handed over the collected funds of Rs 2 lakhs, today, 17th March to the families on behalf of Coimbatore district armed forces constables.
A sum of Rs 1 lakh each was given to each family. So far, only the concerned department has raised funds in case of loss of soldiers or police personnel. It is noteworthy that Coimbatore district armed forces constables have joined forces to assist soldiers working in the army and BSF. This heart warming gesture received public appreciation.
