Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam stated a protest burning the copy of the verdict issued by the High Court accepting the ban to wear Hijab in schools and colleges in Karnataka.
Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) burnt a copy of the verdict in Tirupur to protest against the High Court verdict banning school colleges from wearing hijabs in Karnataka.
Islamic girls were banned from wearing hijabs in schools, colleges in Karnataka. While the case was making progress in the high court, the Karnataka high court had issued stating the ban would continue.
In protest, the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam protested at the CTC Corner area of Tirupur Kangeyam road. They raised protest slogans against the hijab ban and protested, dressed as a judge and wearing saffron robes and chanting "I am an RSS stooge", indicating that the judges were acting in favour of the RSS men. As part of the demonstration, they burnt a copy of the verdict against hijab dress code and protested.
